Why we publish the rate on every job posting

Kevin Finlay · July 21, 2026 · 3 min read

Look through therapy job listings in any Midwest market and count how many tell you what the work pays. It will not take long. The standard phrasing is competitive compensation, which means the number will be revealed at a point in the process where you have already invested enough time to feel bad about walking away.

We publish the range on every posting. PT and OT in-home outpatient work runs $65 to $75 per visit. Home health visits run $75 to $85. Speech goes up to $90, and assistant roles run $40 to $50. It is on the listing before you click apply.

If the rate is fair, saying it out loud costs nothing. If it isn't, hiding it is the whole strategy.

What this does to the recruiting process

It shortens it dramatically. Therapists who find the rate acceptable apply. Therapists who don't, don't, and neither of us spends 3 weeks finding that out. Nobody arrives at an offer conversation feeling ambushed.

It also changes who applies. Publishing the number attracts experienced clinicians who know what their time is worth and have stopped being willing to audition for the information.

The part that matters more than the rate

Weekly pay. Every Friday. Most contract therapy work runs on a billing cycle that has nothing to do with when you did the work, and the delay is treated as normal. It should not be. You saw the patient this week. You should be paid this week.
